test import into crysis

Test model import into cryengine. the model is a mash-up between two of my two-point perspectives.

article mashup v.2

The struggle for power is one that has continued through the ages. But this battle is soon to come to a close. Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Invaded New York City, and soon set their sights on taking over the globe. Their dominance was unmatched until another company took up arms against its adversaries. Coca-Cola, the world’s largest beverage company rose from the ashes, refreshing troop morale with sparkling beverages and brands. Take-Two refused to take this lying down and Headquarted themselves in New York City and became a leading developer of interactive media. This battle between the two companies tore the masses as they fought for consumer sales. That was until, another company stepped up to the throne. Facebook, the world’s largest social network started as an underdog but rose up to become the king of social networks, as something that won the hearts of the masses and consumers alike. This struggle for market control is one that is hard fought.

Article Mashup

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. : XCOM: Enemy Unknown Invades Stores on October 9. Headquartered in New York City, Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. is a leading developer, marketer and publisher of interactive entertainment for consumers around the globe. But another company is set to invade and domineer, The Coca-Cola Company is the world's largest beverage company, refreshing consumers with more than 500 sparkling and still brands. With both of these companies on the market, competition feels cornered as consumers are ousted with these products, so how does one compete? Build the world’s largest social network of course. The world's largest social networking website, Facebook provides both Take-Two and Coca-Cola with strong competition and carries on into the ages, creating something that is accessible to a vast majority of people. Of course, this competition comes at a cost, all three of those companies reaching record profits.

Cryengine Environment + View from Elevator

The main area of my valley re-creation. The middle room will probably sit on the grass area.

The river that runs through the valley.

First-person view from the test elevator in motion.
For my valley, I intend to add trees along the cliff faces to mimic the overall look of the Iya Valley. I also plan to place rocks that interfere with the flow of the river (and add particle effects to make it look more realistic).

I was thinking of having one elevator follow the path of the river and the other take a more dramatic approach.

Assignment 2 - follow up on cryengine files

These are the game files containing all levels, objects and whatnot. It's a split zip. file so all the parts need to be downloaded for it to work. (totals to around 900mb)

To be modelled in Cryengine: Iya Valley - JAPAN

This is the valley I plan to model in Cryengine. The Iya Valley is one of Japan's most well known valleys. Looking at the images, it might be a challenge to place my model because of the river below the valley.

I want to try and create a fog that seeps through the area.

experiment 2: final submission

Structural planes mimic the aesthetics of its surrounding landscape to create a form that both harmonizes and antagonises its surroundings. The assembly of the structure and the nature that surrounds it, merge through filtered light and shadows created by those structural planes.

For my monument, I wanted to create the idea of a grand approach to the monument while it simultaneously hides and stands out amongst its surroundings. Therefore, I created a tunnel leading from a beach area into the waterfall area.

Cryengine Level Files:

Above is the link to my level folder which is being kept on the gamefront/filefront server. It should be available for the next 180 days before being taken down. I was unable to upload all the files as zip folder would not be accepted (file size too large) so I copied all elements I used in my level and place those into this zip folder. It should load correctly.
